LESLIE Nan Moon has always loved to make art. Printmaking has been her passion since she first discovered it when she took it as an elective during her first year of undergraduate school (her intended major was sculpture). She graduated from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia with a BFA in printmaking and book arts and it remains her passion to this day. Leslie shares: “Art has saved my soul and my sanity. When I’m working on a new linocut or woodcut I get lost in it. It takes me away from being a mom of a profoundly autistic teenager. It makes me forget for a little while about my daily life and uncertain future. I need it. It gets me up some mornings and helps me to sleep better at night. The bonus is people enjoy it! I am proud and honored every time somebody purchases a piece of my art. So I don’t just love to make art, I need to make art.”
